This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day & night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success —Joshua 1:8
Today’s devotional (that I read on New Day New You of Joyce Meyer) is Guard Your Mind, Watch Your Mouth. In other words, it’s simply tells that no matter what we go through each and every day, we have to keep notice on The Word of God to instructed us. Not the problem! Just like Joshua —he had plenty of enemies yet he isn’t affraid, because he was instructed by the Lord to keep the Word. Again, not the problem! Both in his mouth and in his mind.
Oftenly, people of God don’t realised that if we have problem, we focus on the problem. If you and I are to make our way prosperous & have good success in this life, we will definitely need to put our thoughts & words on something other than the problem that faces us. We need to STOP thinking about the problem, talking about the problem, and sometimes, we even need to STOP praying about the problem. If we have prayed, God has heard. Often we say we are fellowshipping with God, when in reality we are fellowshipping with our problem. True, no?
In Mark 11:23 Jesus instructed His diciples to SPEAK to the mountain, He did not say TALK ABOUT the mountain. If there is a purpose in talking about it, then do so. Get it?
Otherwise, it’s best to keep quiet about it. Words stir up emotions that often cause upset because of excessive focus on the circumstance. It is valueable to go out & do something enjoyable while we are waiting for God to solve your problem. We may not feel like doing it, but do it anyway. It will help you! Get your mind—and your mouth—off the problem!
Be blessed! Be happy!
Stay young! And stay normal 😀
